Also, we wish to reduce the consequences of a fire,<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); word-spacing: normal;\">should it occur. Nevertheless, some levels of fire risk to occupants and property<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); word-spacing: normal;\">remain and need to be assessed. In Module 1 of the Skilled to be a Fire expert project,&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); word-spacing: normal;\">basic concepts of fire risk assessment are presented. Due to ongoing development&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); word-spacing: normal;\">of probabilistic fire risk assessment and lack of standardized approach in the field,&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); word-spacing: normal;\">however, the contents of module 1 remain mainly of an informative nature.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Text\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The purpose of fire risk evaluation in general\nis to assist in making decisions about which risks need treatment and the\npriority for treatment implementation. It involves comparing the level of fire\nrisk found during the fire risk analysis process with fire risk criteria\nestablished when the context was considered. <b>The main challenge remains to\ndetermine the acceptable level of frequency \u2013 consequence concept<\/b> (often\ngraphically presented by F-N curves). To obtain the required F-N curves the\nstatistical data of past fires is of great importance. The F-N framework\nassumes that the design of a building can be realised only if all consequences\nand their frequency are acceptable to society.
